Acoustic Entertainment by Chris Hanlon
Chris Hanlon is # 5 of 6 children, born on Christmas Eve to Marie (his Italian mother) and Patrick (his Irish father). Chris was raised in a loving home in DuBois Pa. He "served" 12 years in Catholic School graduating from Central Christian. He then joined the U.S. Marines and served 4 ½ years.
Chris started playing guitar at age 12 and although the term is "self -taught" he had many mentors. All of the Hanlon children are musically talented, playing piano, drums, saxophone, keyboard and harmonica. Locals like Chris Meholic and John Cowan showed the young Hano a few tricks.
You will notice his musical style is influenced by Keith Richards, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Marley and Eric Clapton. If you have never heard Chris or "Hurricane Hano", as he is known on the mountain, you are in for a wide variety! His song list includes many favorites from Knockin' on Heavens Door to Lion Sleeps Tonight!
However, I wouldn't call them "covers" - every song is done HANO STYLE! You will rarely get through a set without seeing Keith Richards influence and hearing a Hano style Stones tune.
One of the audience's favorite sets is cheesy heavy metal ballads (on acoustic); Chris calls it - "Head Cheese". The sing-a -longs are also a crowd pleaser!
Although the guitar is his passion he also plays the harmonica and can sit down with a keyboard or drums and have a little fun. As well as Hano's acoustic act he also plays with his brother Marc Hanlon and his "brother in music" Mike Markievich in an electric band named "Three Blind Mice". They are the 'house band' at Chris' house! Chris and Mike were once a duo named "Moonhound Hillbillies". Mike also has an awesome acoustic act.
